Thigh Lift
Shapely legs are a distinctive feature of health, vitality and beauty. Our cosmetic plastic surgery patients believe that wearing shorts and skirts is almost a requirement of the excellent weather we are fortunate to enjoy year-round. Being physically active or participating in outdoor activities in long pants can be cumbersome, if not restrictive and possibly depressing.
A Thigh Lift removes excess fat, tightens the skin and re-contours the upper leg usually with concealable scars. Many Thigh Lifts are performed on the inner thigh, but Thigh Lifts also can be performed on the outer thigh or included with a buttock Lift.
Thigh Lift FAQ:
How Is An Inner Thigh Lift Performed?
An Inner or Medial Thigh Lift addresses loose skin and fatty tissue on the inner slope of the thigh. Dr. James Long will make an incision at the lowest point of the crease between the groin and the inner thigh, where he will then remove sagging skin in the thigh areas and perform liposuction if any fat requires removal. For extensive weight loss patients, Dr. Long will make a vertical incision along the inner thigh as well to achieve additional correction.
How Is An Outer Thigh Lift Performed?
For patients with excess loose skin and fat on the lateral sides of the thigh and backside, an Outer Thigh Lift involves an incision along the top of the pelvic bone on each side. Each incision may extend horizontally as far as the center of your body. Excess skin and fat is then pulled up towards the incision, which tightens the skin along both sides of the leg; then the excess skin and fat is removed. To keep visible signs of surgery to a minimum, incisions are hidden in the natural contours of the body.

Why not go to an Obstetrician, Gynecologists, Primary Care Physician, Internist, Dentists and “cosmetologists” for a liposuction?
Practitioners like Obstetricians or Gynecologist and other doctors who are not formally residency-trained and Board Certified to perform Thigh Lift have been found to suffer a much higher rate of complications, as it’s a side interest to them, and not a treatment they’re certified to do all day long. One of the most common complaints is minimal improvement, asymmetries, etc.
