Chin and Neck Liposuction
Excess fatty deposits in the chin, neck and cheeks may give the appearance of being overweight, or make the neck look like it hangs or cheeks look like they droop. This unwanted fat may be gently removed by various mini procedures with very small incisions placed in hidden locations that have a very short downtime.
A poorly defined neck can be improved with Chin / Neck Liposuction and /or a Buccal Fat Removal. Submental or Neck Liposuction removes excess fatty tissue to help further define the chin and the neckline. This is often referred to as double chin surgery.
Chin and Neck Liposuction FAQ:
How can a Chin / Neck Liposuction improve my neck?
Chin / Neck Liposuction surgery with Dr. Long, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon corrects the double chin deformity / fatty neck in selected candidate patients by removing excess fat from your neck, making you look thinner and more youthful. Sometimes he may accompany the procedure with platysma band treatment /correction surgery or Neck Lift for a more comprehensive neck rejuvenation.
Who is a candidate for Chin / Neck Liposuction?
You are a candidate for Chin / Neck Liposuction if you have:
Double chin
Excess fat deposits in your neck
Lack of pleasing neck definition
The healing process that occurs under the skin following chin / neck liposuction assists in tightening of the skin and underlying tissues. This can help tighten the neck without a Neck Lift surgery. If the skin does not have enough elasticity to contract back, skin tightening with a Neck Lift will be required.
If liposuction is done on a neck that has no skin elasticity, the skin will hang after the liposuction. Dr. Long can determine if you are a good candidate for liposuction alone.
How is a Chin / Neck Liposuction performed?
Dr. Long will perform chin / neck liposuction by using a very small tube (liposuction cannula) inserted under the skin, and gently removes the excess fatty tissues of the neck with a vacuum. The neck contour is improved in two ways: volume reduction and tissue tightening. After the fat has been removed, a few days of compression (pressure) dressings allows the skin to ‘shrink’ and redrape to the new contour of the neck.
With Dr. Long Chin / neck liposuction can be safely performed under local anesthesia using twilight sedation (IV sedation) or heavy oral sedation.
